Early Life and Education
Dr. Abhinaya was born and raised in Chennai. She completed her early schooling at DAV Girls Senior Secondary School, Chennai, where she completed her CBSE education, followed by DAV Higher Secondary School, Chennai where she built a strong foundation in science.
She pursued her undergraduate medical training at Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (SRIHER), Porur, Chennai, one of India's premier deemed medical universities, earning her MBBS degree between 2012 and 2018. She distinguished herself during her undergraduate years by securing a distinction in Forensic Medicine.
She subsequently pursued postgraduate specialization, earning her MD in Biochemistry from Osmania Medical College, where she ranked 3rd in her college and 7th rank in the university.
During her postgraduate training, Dr. Abhinaya developed strong interests in metabolic health, preventive and holistic health care, evidence-based public health communication, AI in Healthcare.
Career
Prior to her postgraduate specialisation, Dr. Abhinaya worked as a Medical Officer in Cardiology at Apollo Hospitals, gaining frontline clinical experience in a high-acuity tertiary care setting. She also holds a Fellowship in Diabetes Mellitus (Medvarsity/Royal Liverpool Academy).
She later joined Osmania Medical College as a Senior Resident in the Department of Biochemistry, where she is involved in teaching undergraduate students in MBBS, BDS, BSc MLT, and DMLT, clinical laboratory operations, and research. She contributes to the department's biochemistry laboratory and follows NABL and ISO 15189 standards.
