Introduction
Dr. Sumbul is an Indian physician, anatomist, researcher, medical writer, and educator known for her contributions to medical education, anatomy teaching, and healthcare journalism. She currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anatomy and has been actively involved in academic teaching, anatomical research, and medical communication. Early Life and Education
Dr. Sumbul was born on May 2, 1995, in Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh. She is the daughter of Dr. Mohd Shoaib, a physician, and Nusrat Parveen.
She completed her early schooling at Canossa Convent Girls Inter College and later studied at City Montessori School.
She pursued her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at Rajshree Medical Research Institute, graduating in 2020. She later earned her Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Anatomy from King George's Medical University in 2023.
Career
Following her medical graduation, Dr. Sumbul briefly worked as a Medical Officer at Apollo Medics Super Speciality Hospital before pursuing postgraduate specialization in anatomy.
After completing her MD, she served as a Senior Resident in the Department of Anatomy at King George's Medical University, where she was involved in undergraduate and postgraduate medical teaching, anatomical training, and academic research.
She later joined academia as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anatomy.
Alongside her academic career, she contributes to medical journalism and healthcare communication through MedBound Times as a medical writer.
Academic Achievements and Recognition
During her undergraduate medical training, Dr. Sumbul earned distinctions in Biochemistry and Pathology.
In 2023, she secured the highest percentage in the MD Anatomy examination at King George's Medical University.
Prior to medical school, she ranked 11th in the state in the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad High School Examination in 2011 and was awarded a gold medal in recognition of her academic achievement.
