Introduction
Dr. Rahul Chawla is a neurologist from New Delhi. He is a healthtech entrepreneur, author, medical educator, and healthcare innovator known for his work in clinical neurology, digital health, patient education, and healthcare communication. Trained at some of India's most prestigious medical institutions, he has built a career that combines specialist neurological care with a passion for improving healthcare accessibility through technology and public engagement.
Currently serving as Consultant Neurologist at ISIC Multispeciality Hospital, New Delhi, Dr. Chawla treats a wide spectrum of neurological disorders, including stroke, epilepsy, migraine, dementia, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, and neuroimmunological diseases. Beyond clinical practice, he is the founder of HealthPil, a digital health platform designed to make trustworthy specialist care and evidence-based medical information more accessible to patients across India.
Early Life and Education
Dr. Rahul Chawla's academic journey has been marked by consistent excellence from an early stage. He secured All India Rank 1 in the Banaras Hindu University Pre-Medical Test (BHU PMT) in 2008, a distinction that highlighted his exceptional academic abilities.
He pursued his MBBS and subsequently his Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Internal Medicine from Vardhman Mahavir Medical College and Safdarjung Hospital, one of India's leading government medical institutions. During his postgraduate years, he developed a strong interest in neuroscience, acute care medicine, and complex neurological disorders.
Driven by his passion for neurology, he went on to pursue superspecialty training in Neurology at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, where he completed his DM in Neurology between 2020 and 2023. During the highly competitive entrance process, he secured All India Rank 2 in the AIIMS Super Specialty Neurology Entrance Examination.
His training at AIIMS provided extensive exposure to stroke care, epilepsy, movement disorders, neuroimmunology, cognitive neurology, neurocritical care, and advanced neurological diagnostics.
Career
Dr. Chawla's professional career spans clinical neurology, academic medicine, healthcare entrepreneurship, and digital health innovation.
Following completion of his MD training, he served as Senior Resident at Vardhman Mahavir Medical College and Safdarjung Hospital between 2014 and 2020. During this period, he managed a large volume of acute and chronic medical cases while gaining experience in critical care and emergency medicine.
He subsequently joined All India Institute of Medical Sciences as a Senior Resident in Neurology, completing his DM Neurology training between 2020 and 2023. Working at one of India's busiest neurological centers, he managed thousands of neurological emergencies and complex referral cases.
Following completion of his superspecialty training, he served as Associate Consultant in Neurology at PSRI Hospital before joining IBS Hospital as Consultant Neurologist. He also worked as Visiting Consultant Neurologist at Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences.
In 2026, he joined ISIC Multispeciality Hospital as Consultant Neurologist, where he currently practices.
