Dr. Swati Sharma

Introduction

Dr. Swati Sharma is a dentist who stumbled into writing, an artist who found a second calling, and a professional who chose to begin again when most would have settled. Her story is not one of grand plans, it is one of following curiosity, embracing change, and discovering that reinvention has no age limit.

Early Life and Education

She grew up in Meerut, where a deep love for Biology quietly shaped her future. Like most students with a science bent, her first dream was to study medicine. But life had a different plan, and she found her way into dentistry instead.

After completing her ICSE and ISC from Meerut, she gained admission to King George's Medical College, one of India's most respected institutions, where she went on to complete her post-graduation in Operative Dentistry. What had begun as Plan B turned out to be exactly where she belonged.

Career

She practised her speciality for three decades in Ajmer before relocating to Delhi building a career defined by patient trust and quiet dedication.

Writing had flickered in her life before, she had written for her school magazine but it came back seriously when her children moved out and the house grew quieter. She started a blog called Newerways on Blogger (newerways.blogspot.com). She was inconsistent at first, posting when inspiration struck and going silent when life got busy

Then a comment changed something. She wrote about her favourite teacher, Ms. Neena Gupta, a fond memory of a birthday celebration, shared as a Teacher's Day tribute. An old senior she had long lost touch with found the article, left a comment, and reached out reminiscing, asking after her, bridging a silence of years. That comment told her something she hadn't quite admitted to herself: that her words could reach people and matter to them.

COVID brought her back to writing with real commitment on her blog.

Writing a new chapter

Approaching this new chapter the way she had always approached learning by becoming a student again she enrolled at Henry Harvin, equipping herself in medical writing and digital marketing. She honed her craft at MedBound and Klarity, before going on to contribute to WHO Fides and The Checkup Magazine, a lifestyle publication for doctors, where her voice personal, grounded, and warm found exactly the readers it deserved.

Academic Achievements and Recognition

She was awarded Certificate of Honours in various dental subjects, RS Saxena Memorial Trophy and Gold medal for Anatomy, Gold Medal for the Best House Surgeon.

Personal Life and Interests

Outside of work, she is an avid reader. She is particularly drawn to fiction that pulls her into other lives and biographies that show her how real people navigate real challenges.

Beyond the clinic, she is a creative person, drawn to papier-mâché art and designing wall pieces.

She is also a self-confessed foodie with a taste for the finer things, someone who approaches a well-crafted meal with the same attention she brings to a well-crafted sentence. At her core, a maker of things, of stories, of connections. Whether she is at her desk writing, at her worktable crafting, or at a beautifully laid table savoring a meal.
